Selfishness is one of the most dangerous and hidden defects that will choke your purpose and relationships if you let it
It does not always show up loud
Sometimes it shows up disguised as self care
Sometimes it looks like guarding your peace
Sometimes it sounds like saying you need to protect your time
But underneath all of that is pride
Underneath that is a refusal to serve
Underneath that is a life centered around one thing

Selfishness convinces you that your needs outrank your calling
It keeps your leadership shallow

Selfishness poisons every relationship you touch
It turns marriage into a contract instead of a covenant

When God transforms selfishness

The life God is calling you to cannot be built on selfish ambition

Serve where it costs you
Love when it stretches you
Lead when it humbles you
The real strength is selflessness
The real leader sacrifices
The real flex is dying to self so others can live
PRAYER
God I confess my selfishness
I have protected my comfort
I have chosen pride over purpose
I have made life about me
But I am done living small
I lay down my selfish patterns
I surrender my ego my pride my comfort addiction
Break the root of selfishness in me
Teach me to serve with love
Teach me to lead with humility
Teach me to reflect You not my own ambition
I want my life to build others not just benefit me
I want my purpose to pour out love grit and sacrifice
