The Lord is always about the heart! If He can heal and build the heart, the mind follows and sets up the direction of our lives. For so many years, I loved the Lord AND struggled with denial, critical and judgmental spirit, lack of healthy spiritual and emotional daily disciplines, self pity, pride and selfishness, lack of responsibility/ownership, bitterness, un forgiveness, passivity in areas, lust, shame and anger. While all of these at the same time and I wasn’t gaining any kind of traction.
It wasn’t until the Holy Spirit highlighted these things within me and also highlighted a lot of roots behind them that truly made sense. But until I made a choice to actually be honest and do the heart and hard work, God wasn’t going to force His healing on me. He brought good men in my life to help guide and build me. Over years of working with honest and gracious men, calling me up, seeing patterns in me that I couldn’t see myself, celebrating small victories, seeing results and fruits in some areas quicker than others and then some that needed more cultivating for fruit than other areas.
One thing that truly awakened me, was I was trying to grow deeper as a LONE WOLF, that’s where my biggest hurdle and problem developed over time. I have been in strong and different healthy men’s groups now for over 15 years, growing deeper in all aspects in my relationships, now I even mentor others, making new disciples. I’m forever grateful for Him and the men in my life. Some of us are starting a new chapter, some of us are coming into a new season but God wants to highlight things in our hearts before we go into a new season. But, whatever the season, I’m immensely excited to grow and not settle with you men!!!
